Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks, 2009

Iconic Surry Hills Market is on 15th of December. This special Christmas market will be an excellent opportunity to enjoy beautiful Surry Hills.

If you didn’t see yet Christmas projections are in the city. You still have couple week to see it untill 25 December. The projections are  turned on from 20:30 till 1:00 (8.30pm – 1am).

On 22nd of December the biggest Christmas (Carols in the Domain) concert in Australia will be held in Syndey.   Concert starts at 20:30 (8.30pm) in Domain, but you can spend all day there as event Carnival starts at noon and from 15:00 (3.00pm) – pre-show entertainment on stage.

Sydney Hobart Yacht Race starts on 26 December in Sydney and it already became one of iconic yacht races in the world. The race begins at 13:00 (1PM) on the picturesque Sydney Harbour and the best way to feel atmosphere of the race is to be on boat to follow a fleet. If you don’t have access to any boats don’t worry. Just grab a spot on North or South Head which are marked in this map. These are spots for whale watching but these spots also perfect to follow the race.

On 31 December famous Sydney New Year Eve fireworks. Of course it will be most spectacular event of this month. There are two fireworks shows. At 21:00 (9pm) will be shorter show for children and of course full show at midnight. Check official site for a map with places where you can see fireworks. You need to be there well in advance. Early afternoon is the best time as later it can be difficult to find place.
