I haven’t been to Orlando in about 10 years and I remember Church St. being quite active as well. I don’t think it’s all to blame on Disney/Universal but also the economy, especially in Florida.

I just took a trip to Orlando in September and was really saddened to see that Downtown has become pretty much deserted. It would appear that Disney/Universal have sucked the life out of the City of Orlando! Church St was so quiet, nothing like I remember it from about eight years previous to my visit in 2011.
