Here is a list of museums with free entry in Oslo (in alphabetic order):
Film museum (Filmmuseet)
It is permanent exhibit of Norwegian film history. Where you can also watch archive films and new Norwegian short films.
Intercultural Museum
It is a museum of cultural history located in the Vigeland park and has one of the largest collections of paintings in Norway.
National Gallery of Norway
Yes, you can visit National Gallery for free, but only on one day during a week. It is free entrance for all on Sundays, but expect long queues as you won’t alone there.
National Library (Nasjonalbiblioteket)
National Library stores Norway’s cultural heritage from middle ages to current days. It also holds different exhibition during a year.
Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture (DogA)
Centre was established by Norwegian Design Council and Foundation for Design and Architecture in Norway. It is housed in a converted transformer station near Aker river. DogA provides an arena for design and architecture exhibitions, conferences and meetings, as well as a design shop and restaurant.
Oslo Cathedral (Oslo Domkirke)
Cathedral is main church of Oslo. It was Oslo’s third cathedral and was consecrated on November 7th 1697. In 1950 it was restored as far as possible to its original baroque interior.
Oslo City Hall (Oslo rådhus)
It is not very old building, opened in 1950 and is decorated by Norwegian artists from the period 1900-1950.

Museum illustrates the history of Oslo, development of city and it’s cultural and commercial activities. It show short movie “Oslo over 1000 years”.
